Your coat is built to be worn hard, through yard mornings, wet dog walks and everything in between. Here is how to keep it that way.

Product Care Questions
Can I tumble dry my coat?
No. Air dry it on a hanger. It dries quickly on its own, and direct heat is the fastest way to shorten the life of a technical fabric.
Can I use ordinary detergent or fabric softener?
No. Detergent and softener leave a water-absorbent film on the shell, which flattens the beading and makes a healthy coat feel like it leaks. Use a technical cleaner such as Nikwax Tech Wash instead.
Can I iron it?
No. Keep irons, radiators and other direct heat away from the shell. Always follow the care label sewn inside your coat.
How often should I reproof?
Watch the beading. When rain stops rolling off and starts to darken or soak into the outer fabric, it is time to clean and reproof. Worn daily on the yard, that tends to be once or twice a year. For dog walks and school runs, once a year is plenty.
My coat feels like it is leaking. Is it faulty?
Usually not. When the outer fabric wets out, the inside turns damp and clammy even though no rain is getting through, and a dirty shell is the most common cause. Clean it with Tech Wash first, then reproof with TX.Direct. If water still gets through after that and you are within your 2 Year Guarantee, get in touch and we will put it right.
Does this apply to Reinpants, Reingloves and kids' coats?
Yes. The whole range follows the same routine. Wash at 30°C with a technical cleaner, reproof when the beading fades, and air dry. Always check the care label inside each product first.

Washing & Reproofing
Clean
A 30°C synthetic cycle with a slow spin, using Nikwax Tech Wash instead of detergent. Ordinary detergent leaves a water-absorbent film on the fabric, so a coat that seems to leak is often just overdue a proper clean. Up to two garments per wash.
Reproof
When the beading has faded, run the clean coat straight through again while still wet, this time with TX.Direct Wash-In. It bonds water repellency to the fibres in the machine. Do not dry in between.
Water beads again
Air dry on a hanger and check the surface next time it rains. Water should bead and roll off the shell like the day the coat arrived.
