Shell Coats

A shell coat is the waterproof layer without the warmth. Mesh lined, under a kilo, and the one to reach for when you are moving rather than standing still.

When a shell beats a fleece-lined coat. If you are mucking out, riding, or walking at any pace, a fleece lining is usually too warm and you end up wet from the inside. A mesh lining lets the heat out and leaves room to put your own layers underneath, which is what makes a shell work from spring through to a mild winter day.

Full length or short. The full length Lite covers your legs when you are standing about, and the side zips open to hip height so it still sits properly in the saddle. The Air is hip length and cut closer, which suits riding and yard work where you want to move.

Same shell on both: 20,000mm hydrostatic head, 10,000g/m² breathability, every seam taped and sealed, PFAS-free water repellent finish. Machine washable, and reproofed once a year in your own machine.
